A special story I was honored to read early!
I had the honor and pleasure of reading Yummy Stuff Island before it was released to the public, and it was truly a joy from beginning to end. The book creates a magical world filled with adventure, lovable characters, and a heartfelt message about resilience, friendship, and embracing what makes us different. Owyn’s journey is especially inspiring, and the story does a wonderful job of blending imagination with meaningful life lessons. It’s a charming, uplifting book that children and families will genuinely enjoy reading together.

MUST READ!!!
I can’t say enough about the first Yummy Stuff Island adventure, Owyn and the Midnight Muncher. I had the honor of reading the story before illustrations and could very vividly visualize every single part of it. When I saw the illustrations, they were absolutely perfect and fit exactly what I saw in my mind. I could immediately see myself reading this book aloud to my students and having it a part of my book collection for sure. A diverse group of amazing kids really sealed my love for the whole story! Not to mention, it’s action packed with very relatable life lessons. I’m so excited for the next adventure!!!

ABOUT US

Our story begins with Owyn.
At nine years old, Owyn was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. To save his life, he underwent a right‑leg, above the knee amputation and months of chemotherapy both before and after surgery. He faced more than most kids—or adults—ever will, meeting every challenge with a quiet, steady courage that continues to inspire us.
During treatment, we searched for children’s books that showed kids with limb differences living full, joyful, adventurous lives. Books that said, “You’re not alone. You’re still you. And everything will be okay.” But those books were almost impossible to find.
So, we decided to create one.
Owyn and the Midnight Muncher began as a therapeutic outlet for our family—a way to bring light into a difficult season. It quickly grew into something bigger: a story meant to comfort, empower, and uplift other children and parents walking a similar path. A story that celebrates resilience, imagination, and the kind of bravery that doesn’t always look loud.
We hope Owyn’s journey brings encouragement to families who need it, and reminds every child that their story is worth telling.
